What is Chilton Leadership?

 

v      A program designed to prepare men and women from the Chilton County community to assume positions of leadership.  Programs focus on Chilton County’s economy, education, government, public safety, human services, local history, and leadership development.

 

How will I benefit?

 

You will have the opportunity to . . . . . . . . . . .

 

v      Acquire knowledge, experience, and decision-making skills for leadership effectiveness.

 

v      Open communication and improve teamwork among various organizations in Chilton County.

 

v      Gain a broader understanding of the problems, opportunities and resources in the Chilton area.

 

v      Increase capabilities to influence decision-making bodies.

 

v      Develop & strengthen leadership and other professional growth skills.

 

v      Create a network among participants and existing community leaders.

 

How much time is involved?

 

The program will run from September through May (excluding December) with sessions from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the third Tuesday of each month.  Participants also will be required to participate in class projects.

 

 

Who is eligible to participate?

 

v      Chilton Leadership is open to any individual, business or organization interested in supporting leadership development in Chilton County.

 

v      Anyone who resides or is employed in Chilton County is eligible to participate in the Chilton Leadership program.

 

v      Participants in Chilton Leadership must be 18 years of age or older.

 

How are participants selected?

 

Participants are chosen by a Selection Committee from all applications received.  Enrollment in the class program is limited to 25 participants.

 

What is the cost to participate?

 

v      Registration/tuition is $275.00 per participant and must be received by August 19, 2005.

 

v      Participants are responsible for paying their own tuition or for making arrangements for payment by their employer and/or sponsoring organization.

 

 

ATTENDANCE AGREEMENT

 

I understand and agree that I will attend each of the eight full-day class sessions during the months of September through May, barring any unforeseen emergency.  Attendance at the first class is mandatory.  I will further participate in my leadership project group to the best of my ability. I understand that failure to fully adhere to this attendance and participation policy may result in my being removed from membership in this class.
